What to expect at Breeders’ Cup

Breeders’ Cup is bringing horseracing fans to the Del Mar Racetrack this Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4. Here’s your guide for a smooth driving experience in Del Mar this weekend.

Getting to the Uber Zone

Our dedicated pickup and dropoff zone for Breeders’ Cup is located off Jimmy Durante Blvd. To get there:

• Take I-5 N to Via De La Valle
• Use the left 2 lanes to turn onto Jimmy Durante Blvd
• Head south past the Main Gate
• Turn right into the Uber Zone

On your way to the Uber Zone, be aware of road closures and follow traffic signage closely.

We’ll be testing an exciting new pickup process designed to help you provide safe and efficient rides to attendees. Simply follow these instructions upon arrival at the Uber Zone to receive trip requests:

• Pull forward into the designated queuing lanes (uberX, uberXL, UberSUV, UberBLACK). Follow the signs and instructions from onsite staff as pickups will work differently than usual. You will not receive requests in the app like normal.
• Open the Uber Driver app and tap the “Enter Code” button. Greet your rider when they approach your vehicle and type in the 6-digit code (PIN) they provide to confirm the trip.
• Start the trip and get your riders home safely.

Due to logistical challenges, riders will not be able to request UberSELECT rides at Breeders’ Cup. Upon arrival at Del Mar, proceed to the uberX lines to provide rides. You will still be eligible for extra earnings.

Lot policies

The Uber Zone is an active pickup area reserved for driver-partners who are online for pickups. There is no parking. By remaining in your vehicle, be ready to move forward, and following signage and traffic personnel instructions while in the Uber Zone, you can avoid citations and/or towing that may result from leaving vehicles unattended. Lot policy does not allow loitering or soliciting.

Terms & Conditions

This promotion is only for driver-partners who directly received the offer email from Uber on November 3, 2017. Eligible trips must be completed on uberX or uberXL, and start within the designated Uber Zone from 3pm to 8pm on Friday, November 3, 2017, or from 3pm to 8pm on Saturday, November 4, 2017. The minimum take home guarantee will be calculated after Boost earnings are added to take home earnings.
