Summerfest 2019: Official Ride Guide
Uber

From June 26–July 7, Summerfest brings your favorite artists to perform across 11 stages along Milwaukee’s lakefront. As the Official Rideshare Partner of Summerfest, Uber is here to help get you where you need to go.

Getting to and from Summerfest

When you’re ready to head to the festival, a ride is just a few taps away. Simply enter Summerfest as your destination and your driver will take you to the Uber Zone off of Buffalo St.

There is a $5 surcharge for dropoffs at the festival. There is a $8 surcharge for pickups at the festival. This surcharge helps ensure a reliable experience at Summerfest. The surcharge does not go to the venue.

Pickups at Summerfest

When the music stops and you’re ready to close out your day or head to your next destination, exit the gates and open the Uber app. In-app directions will guide you to the Uber Rider Lounge, located outside the festival’s Mid Gate on E. Chicago St. When you get there, we’ll have charging stations, Wi-Fi, bathrooms, and staff to help you with your ride.

Wait times at Summerfest

Due to high demand when the festival ends each night, higher than normal wait minutes may be experienced between 10:30pm–1am. We recommend that you plan accordingly to beat the lines and avoid higher wait times.

Increased demand on July 3

After the July 3 fireworks, we anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic north of Wisconsin Ave as attendees leave the waterfront. During this time, it is expected that inbound vehicles will experience delays. Uber is working with local law enforcement on contingency routing, but appreciate everyone’s patience during the expected peak busy times between 9:30pm–12am. As an alternative to waiting at the designated Uber lounge, you may also opt to walk north of Wisconsin Ave to request from a less congested area.

Tips for riding during Summerfest

  • Share your location with your driver. Riders can show their exact location to their drivers by turning on Live Location Sharing. Location sharing is only available during the pickup experience.
  • Get in the right car (and other safety tips). Before you get in the car, check that the license plate, driver photo, and driver name all match what’s listed in the app.
  • Share your trip with your crew. You can now share your location and trip status with friends and family, all right from the app.
  • Chat in-app. Contact your driver directly through the Uber app for a seamless pickup.
  • Use Spotlight. Sometimes when you’re in a crowded area or it’s nighttime, it may be more difficult for your driver to find you. With Spotlight, you can light up your phone with a special color specific to your driver.
