Driving with Uber at KAABOO Del Mar

KAABOO Del Mar is almost here. The annual music festival is taking place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds from September 13-September 15, 2019. With plenty of riders expected to be looking for rides, it provides a great opportunity to earn.

Navigating to the Uber Zone

A designated Uber pickup and dropoff zone will be available at the Del Mar Racetrack and accessible via the Solana Gate, on Via De La Valle. 

Picking up riders

Whenever they’re ready to head out, riders will be instructed to meet you at the Uber Zone. After entering the Uber Zone, pull into the queue lanes as directed by parking attendants and/or law enforcement, and pull forward as vehicles move up. Then, after receiving a trip request, text your rider your parking row number. If prompted to pull forward in your queue by traffic staff, simply update your rider with the new space number when your vehicle advances further ahead in the queue. After the rider enters your vehicle and you have confirmed their name, proceed to the driveway to exit the Uber Zone, as directed by parking attendants and/or law enforcement.

Peak times to drive

Most riders are expected to be looking for rides from the festival between 8pm–1:30am.

Other information

• We encourage you to use the Uber Zone for both pickups and dropoffs. Dropping off riders outside of the Uber Zone may result in the receipt of a citation from law enforcement. Please remember that Uber cannot pay for any citations that drivers may incur.
• While in the Zone, law enforcement recommends that you remain in your vehicle and follow the directions of parking staff to ensure safety and efficiency. Unoccupied vehicles are subject to tow by law enforcement.
• Free WiFi is available in the Uber Zone for a smoother pickup and dropoff experience. In the event that your cell service is weaker than usual, you can go into your phone’s settings and join the Uber Driver Partner Wifi network to improve your connectivity.
• When navigating to the Zone, we recommend using the Uber Driver App navigation for the most up-to-date road closure and routing information.
