Help Keep Uber In Oxford
Oxford is at risk of losing access to safe, affordable rides and we need you to stand up and stop that from happening. Since we first hit the streets back in August, Uber has moved people around town safely and provided an alternative to drinking and driving. We’ve also opened up economic opportunities for local residents and students, enabling them to become entrepreneurs and small business owners.
We’ve met with the mayor and various city officials multiple times to educate them on our business model, demonstrate our commitment to safety, and identify ways we can work together to create a permanent home for Uber in Oxford. Yet, despite these ongoing conversations and our eagerness to work together on sensible ridesharing regulations, the mayor is refusing to compromise and is focused on forcing Uber under existing regulations that don’t reflect new technologies like ridesharing.
We need your support to help keep Uber in Oxford. Tell Mayor Patterson and the Board of Aldermen that you want Uber in Oxford and ask that they work WITH us on creating new laws and regulations around this job-creating technology. Tell them that you need access to more transportation options, not less, and why having Uber in Oxford is important to you.
