The Driver app
If you want to sign up for a courier account, you’ll download the same app as drivers who choose to use the Uber app. Uber’s Driver app is easy to use and gives you information that can help you make the most of the time on the Uber app while you’re getting paid to deliver food.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I choose when I want to deliver using Uber?
Your schedule is up to you. With Uber, you can earn delivering in the UK when, how and where you want. You are free to manage your own schedule!
- I’m a happy Uber Eats customer. Can I sign up to become a courier that uses the Uber app?
Absolutely. You can sign up to deliver by using the form at the top of this page, either by filling out the form with the details of your existing account or by tapping Already have an account? Log in. Then consent to a screening, upload the required documents, submit a photo of yourself, and download the Driver app. After you get a notification that you have an active courier account, you can start getting delivery requests.
- After I’ve completed a delivery, how can I find out how much I earned?
We make it as easy as we can for you to track your earnings. The app offers helpful, transparent tools, like a monetary amount at the top of your screen that shows your earnings. Look for more resources in the app to help you see your real-time totals and other earnings details.
- What does delivering using Uber offer that traditional delivery jobs in the UK might not?
Different delivery jobs offer different opportunities. Not all delivery jobs allow you to work flexible hours whenever you choose. You can decide whether you want a traditional full-time or part-time delivery or courier job, or whether you want the flexibility to work independently wherever you want – or even do both.
- Is the Uber platform safe?
Your safety is a top priority. Uber has a global safety team dedicated to doing our part to help prevent incidents. Plus, we’ve put in place new guidelines since the pandemic began. For instance, if your Uber Eats customer requests it, you can leave their delivery at their door to help reduce contact. Visit the link below to learn more about the safety features and safeguards such as our in-app help centre for day-to-day support, our LERT team for more serious issues and features like anomaly detection and bike safety checklist.
- I’m looking for delivery jobs near me. If I decide to sign up for a courier account with Uber Eats instead, how do I know if delivery is available in my city?
Uber Eats has more than 500,000 restaurant partners worldwide and the app is available in more than 6,000 cities. Tap below to see if yours is one of them.
- What are the requirements to sign up for a courier account with Uber?
Requirements vary depending on whether you’re driving a car or a moped or you’re cycling. When you sign up to be a courier, you’ll be prompted about which documents are required based on your chosen mode of transportation. Couriers in the UK must also pass a background screening. See above for courier account requirements.
