Meet UberX Share
UberX Share is a new ride option that allows riders who are travelling in a similar direction to share a journey, and gives drivers access to more earning opportunities
How does UberX Share work?
You’re eligible to take UberX Share trips after you’ve completed 700 trips on Uber and your insurance provider covers ‘multi-fare passenger shared rides’.
You’ll see a request for UberX Share in the app for your first rider, just like with UberX. You’ll see ‘ Share’ at the top of the trip offer card, so you’ll always know it’s an UberX Share trip request.  
When you accept an UberX Share trip, the Driver app will search for riders requesting UberX Share trips in a similar direction. 
You’ll be notified if another rider (known as a ‘co-rider’) is added to your trip, and your route and total trip earnings will update automatically. If you do not decline within 10 seconds, the co-rider’s trip will be automatically accepted. Once accepted, you can still cancel the additional trip in app if you decide you no longer wish to take it.
If a rider doesn’t arrive at the pick-up location within 2 minutes, you’ll collect a cancellation fee if you decide to cancel the trip.
You’ll be able to see the list of passengers for each UberX Share journey in the Trip Guide.
        7.   Once the trip is completed, you will be able to see how much you earned for this trip on your Trip Receipt.
       8. UberX Share is grouped with UberX in the ‘ Driver Preferences’ section of the Driver app. If you do not wish to receive UberX or UberX Share requests, you may opt out of both.
UberX Share has your safety in mind
Pick-ups are limited to 3 co-riders at a time
Each rider is allowed to book one seat only
Riders who have reports of interpersonal conflicts will not be allowed to take UberX Share trips 
Riders will not be able to use cash as a payment method for UberX Share trips 
Teen accounts will not be able to request UberX Share trips
UberX Share has your earnings in mind
Your trip earnings for an UberX Share trip will be the same as an equivalent UberX journey, from the start of the first pick-up to the final drop-off
UberX Share helps to reduce the time you spend waiting for your next trip, keeping you busy while out on the road
Savings to riders do not lower your earnings on UberX Share trips
UberX Share has your trips in mind
You’ll earn Uber Pro points for every additional co-rider you pick-up on UberX Share, helping you reach higher tiers and better rewards
Your Uber Pro status will not be affected if you reject UberX Share requests or decline/cance lco- riders being added to the trip
Your driver rating will not be impacted if you receive a negative rating from a UberX Share rider due to difficult pick-up experiences, bad route, or issues with another co-rider
Pricing on UberX Share trips
UberX Share operates to help you earn at least the same as an equivalent UberX trip. 
UberX Share offers more affordable prices to encourage more riders to take trips. Riders get a discount that’s applied on top of the UberX fare for the same pick-up/drop-off which leads to the UberX Share fare being lower than UberX for riders. The upfront price takes into account the estimated duration of the trip, traffic and distance, as well as surge pricing when demand is high. When the trip goes through a toll, the toll is added to the final payment.
Riders that don’t follow the rules
Riders cannot change the drop-off location after requesting because the app matches UberX Share riders based on pick-ups and drop-offs, so any changes  would impact other riders on the trip. If a rider insists on going to a different location, they should cancel the trip and request another UberX Share or UberX. In case of a pushback from your passenger about the addition of co-riders, we suggest that you decline/cancel additional riders. You will still be paid the equivalent of an UberX trip with a single rider. We also encourage you to reach out to support in case of such incidents, so we can aim to prevent future instances of this behaviour.
Driver recommendation: Use in-app navigation
With UberX Share we recommend you use Uber’s app navigation. It will automatically update the route with each co-rider that joins the trip, and tell you exactly where to pick-up and drop-off each rider—making it easier for you to focus on the road.
