Drive in Quebec

Quebec needs drivers like you. Thousands of riders request Uber every day—learn how we can help you get started and cash in on the action.

Required documents

1. Quebec driver's licence

A Quebec driver's licence of class 5 or lower is required. Probationary or restricted licences are not accepted and the licence must indicate an age of 21 years or older. Make sure to avoid using flash so that your information is clear and readable.

2. Background check and driving record

There are two safety screenings that you must pass to start driving with Uber in Quebec: a Motor Vehicle Record Check and a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check.

Uber has partnered with the Blainville Police and ISB to enable you to complete your check online. Once you've uploaded your driver's license, ISB will email you with the next steps on the background check.

Uber also requires a good driver record from the SAAQ to start driving which will be requested with your background check. To be eligible to drive, you must not have more than:

  • 3 minor infractions in the last 3 years
  • No major infractions in the last 3 years

3. Vehicle insurance

The vehicle's insurance must be in your name or must be listed as an "occasional" or "secondary" driver. When taking the picture, ensure that it is not blurry and that all four corners are visible.

4. Vehicle registration

Vehicle must be registered in Quebec, must have 4 doors and cannot be rebuilt or salvaged. You are not required to own the vehicle. When taking the picture, ensure that it is not blurry and that all four corners are visible.
