Miami does New Year’s Eve with a vengeance, but if you’re not up for sequins and glitter, deafening beats, and packed-to-the-gills venues, something more low-key might be in order. Enjoy one of these chill destinations that’ll gentle you into the new year with your hearing and personal space bubble intact.

1. Blackwater Sound fireworks

Get out of Miami this New Year’s Eve, and head to Key Largo for the epic fireworks display on Blackwater Sound. A New Year’s spectacle for years, the fireworks are shot off in the back bay, hosted by Sundowners, Señor Frijoles, Cactus Jack’s, Gus’ Grille, the Caribbean Club, and the Key Largo Bay Marriott Beach Resort. Any of those places are excellent viewing spots for this dazzling display.

2. World’s Smallest NYE Party at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne

A party just for the kiddos, the World’s Smallest NYE Party at the Ritz-Carlton offers scads of activities for the whippersnappers, including games, crafts, movies, a kid’s buffet, and more. Alternatively, you can leave the kids at home and enjoy the Midnight in Paris New Year’s Eve Gala in the grand ballroom, featuring dinner, live music and dancing, and a champagne toast at midnight.
