You begin to toy with the idea of trading sequins for silk and glow necklaces for pearls, and that’s OK. In fact, you’ll find that a chill New Year’s Eve opens the door to a whole new world of possibilities on New Year’s Day: a morning run, homemade eggs Benedict for brunch with your besties, a day of relaxing that doesn’t involve Alka-Seltzer and an ice pack. 

1. Holidays at the Battery Atlanta 

The Battery’s New Year’s Eve Bash is a happenin’ shindig with free admission and lots of activities for kids and adults alike. The family party goes till 8pm and features a live DJ and performances involving trained cats and circus acts. Hope & Will’s Sandlot will be open, and there’s ice-skating until 7pm. The adult portion of the party starts at 9pm and features live musical entertainment, aerialists, and acrobats, and a countdown and fireworks display at midnight.

2. Fantasy in Lights at Callaway Gardens
