Happy Friday, New York! In case you haven’t heard, Uber NYC is hitting the streets today for #UberIceCream, delivering on-demand ice cream in Manhattan and Brooklyn between 11am – 5pm.

But let’s face it, even if you have ice cream delivered to your office, #TGIF can’t be properly celebrated until the workday is over. So for those who are counting the minutes until life after 5pm tonight, here are some edibles and activities you can look forward to this weekend:

And in other exciting ice cream news: Ample Hills Creamery (arguably the best small batch ice cream in NYC) has just opened a new flagship location in Gowanus that you should run, walk, or Uber to immediately. Be sure to try their new “It Came From Gowanus” flavor (especially if you love chocolate, fudge, and a lil’ crunch).

Think The Box meets Sleep No More. Now, add dinner. Even if you are weary at first, we encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and experience New York’s craziest dinner party, Queen of the Night. This immersive, theatrical dining experience will leave you asking yourself, “Wait, what just happened?” Pro tip: Don’t be afraid to be pulled into back rooms, drink strange beverages, or share dinner with your neighbor. Get tickets here.

Tonight, take a trip to Brazil — er, Prospect Park — and be serenaded by Bossa Nova queen Bebel Gilberto and Vinicius Cantuaria. Bring a blanket and relax in the grass as these two Brazilian beauties magically transport you to the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Best part? It’s free. Find the entire Celebrate Brooklyn summer schedule here.

On Saturday, July 19, fashion retailer Dover Street Market will be reopening after a two day hiatus with brand new 2014 collections by top designers. This is the first redux of the entire space since it opened in December of 2013. Expect to see exclusive collections from Prada, Phoebe English, and Hood by Air, along with collaborations by Rick Owens x Adidas, Sacai x Vans and more. Get it while it’s hot.

Eat Everything But the Bone at Root & Bone | Root & Bone

We’re big fans of the new Alphabet City restaurant Root & Bone, so if you’re looking for a place to eat out this weekend, this should be the spot. Executive Chef Jeff McInnis, a Yardbird alum, brings some of his famous southern flare to the table with partner and Chef de Cuisine, Janine Booth. Both chefs come from Top Chef fame as previous “cheftestants.” At Root & Bone you can expect to find classic American dishes with farm-fresh ingredients that are just downright delicious. Pro tip: Order the entire menu.

Have a great weekend and Uber on!
