The ability to make an income has always been a challenge for many, but for those who have served in the military, there are additional obstacles that can be difficult to overcome.

We’re proud to announce a partnership with the Brockton VA Hospitals Community Employment program to bring self-employment to six veterans on their path to self sufficiency. The ability to support those who have served and give them new opportunities is a privilege that we hope to be able to build upon.

Through this partnership, Uber is helping these veterans overcome obstacles to long term employment, such as reliable transportation, through the Enterprise Rental program. The six chosen veterans, whose backgrounds range from the Iraq War to [insert here], will launch this Uber|Brockton VA Pilot Program to help us understand unique challenges that veterans face. We’re hoping these learnings will give us the insight needed to build long term options for veterans across the Boston area to have a sustainable income and the flexibility that they need.
