The Weekender is back in Boston! It’s Father’s Day on Sunday, and we’ve got some #UberApproved events and activities to share with your dad, your role model, or whoever makes you feel loved.
Donna Summer Roller Disco | City Hall Plaza

Lace up and roll down to City Hall Plaza this Friday in your snazziest skates for some disco-fueled antics. Bring dad – it’s sure to arise some awkward memories from his youth, which is really what Donna would have wanted.
Bacon and Beer Fest | That Big Green Place

Get ready to indulge – this fest is a ton of fun every year. This Saturday, chefs prepare bacon in more ways than you ever imagined, and breweries top you off with their finest draughts. Have fun, and remember to pace yourself; the post-beer-and-bacon-fest coma is real.
Hot Dog Safari | Landsdowne Street

Hunt wild hot dogs in their natural environment: street festivals. Phantom Gourmet is hosting a day of awesome street food, all to benefit charity. The governor will be making an appearance, as well.
Animation Block Party | Davis Square

The Somerville Theater will be screening this year’s selected animated films and shorts on Saturday. Featuring local animators, you’ll get to see up-and-coming artists and their work. The fest is touring with The Brooklyn Brewery, so you’ll also get to enjoy a cold one during the festivities.
Summer Solstice | Harvard

This Sunday is the longest day of the year, so whether you intentionally celebrate the solstice, you should take advantage of the extra sunlight. The Harvard Museums of Science and Culture are hosting a Solstice celebration, with music, circus acts, and activities for all ages.
