Meet Patrick of Louisville, Kentucky:
Patrick is a dedicated father and husband, longtime Louisville resident (47 years!), and one of Uber Kentucky’s top driver partners. With feedback like, “Loved the conversation and cleanliness… this was by far the best ride I’ve had,” and “Amazing! A very friendly and sweet person,” it’s clear that Patrick has gone above and beyond in many ways for the many riders who have been in his car.
Patrick joined the Uber community last fall after a round of layoffs at his full time job. One of his wife’s friends is a Louisville Uber driver-partner on weekends and recommended the app as a fantastic way to make extra money. Patrick noted that it didn’t take long to get on the road after making his way to the Uber website – within a few weeks, he was giving his first ride.
Nearly 1000 rides later, Patrick is both a pro and an advocate for Uber. He enjoys the interactions with people from all over the world, but he was clear that the flexibility is his favorite aspect of the work.
“I get to spend so much more quality time with my son . Before, I had to miss soccer practices and games, and now I haven’t missed a single thing this season. I also get to spend more time with my better half, Laura, who I’ve been happily married to for going on 22 years. It’s been a blessing for me.”
When asked what advice he has for aspiring Uber driver-partners, Patrick was quick to note that respect is integral in the industry. “Treat people with respect, and they will respect you back. Also, get a car with good gas mileage!”
So where does Patrick recommend out of town guests go when visiting Louisville?
“My favorite parts of town are the parks. Most of the parks have fields you can do anything in – football, Frisbee golf, soccer, baseball. There’s such a wide variety of different things, and the parks always look amazing. Also: the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Churchill Downs Derby Museum, and 4th Street Live are great places to visit!”
We hope you’ll join the Uber Kentucky team in thanking Patrick for being so awesome!
