October is one of the biggest months of the year for the Lone Star State. With major events all across Texas, we’re here to put together the ultimate Uber Texas Road Trip—featuring football, music, and more. As Texans celebrate the first few weeks of fall, we’re expecting these events to be the most popular places for riders in October.
At each stop, we’ll give you the scoop on how to navigate the event like a pro and make the most of your pickups. While it wouldn’t be possible to catch all of these events (and we wouldn’t recommend trying), thanks to the new Texas ridesharing regulations you’re free to drive anywhere in the state where Uber is available. In other words, everything here is fair game.
Ready? Buckle up.

Stop #1: 10/5–10/6
Houston
Minute Maid Park—Home of the Houston Astros
First stop? Playoff baseball. After leaving the league in their dust all season long, the Astros kick off their playoff run at home with Games 1 and 2 of the ALDS. Located in the heart of downtown, expect the stadium to be rockin' on Thursday and Friday.

As the Official Ride of the Houston Astros, there is a designated Uber pickup and dropoff area on Crawford Street between Preston Street and Congress Avenue.
For more information on gameday pickups at Minute Maid Park, check out our full driver guide.

Stop #2: 10/6–10/8
Austin
Zilker Park—Weekend 1 of Texas' Biggest Festival
Next stop? The capital. With thousands of music lovers coming to town, Austin will be in need of safe and reliable rides all weekend long.

If you’re planning on picking up festivalgoers this year, you can use any of the designated spots around Zilker Park for pickup and dropoffs.

Stop #4: 10/7

Kyle Field—Home of the Texas A&M Aggies
Next, we head to south to College Station as the Aggies gear up for their first SEC West home game of the season. With Alabama in town, expect fans from all over Texas to head to Kyle Field for a huge matchup under the lights.

If you're picking up fans after the game, head to the pickup area at Lot 30E—located at the intersection of Wellborn Rd and Old Main—near Albritton Bell Tower.

Stop #5: 10/8

NRG Stadium—Home of the Houston Texans
Football is officially in the air in Texas. With two NFL home games in Texas this weekend, we'll head to NRG Stadium first to catch the Texans take on Kansas City at noon.

As the Preferred Rideshare Partner of the Houston Texans, you can meet your riders at the designated Uber pickup area off of NRG Parkway.
For full directions, check out the NRG Park guide.

Stop #6: 10/8

Stop #7: 10/13–10/15
Austin
Zilker Park—Weekend 2 of Texas' Biggest Festival
With too many bands and too much festival food to fit into one weekend, Austin will be rockin' once again for Weekend 2. Not able to drive for either festival weekend? There's plenty of other big events in Austin in October—see some of our top picks here.

Stop #8: 10/14

The Cotton Bowl—Home of the Red River Showdown
Ready for some classic rivalry football? Head to the Cotton Bowl for the Red River Showdown—and one of Dallas’s busiest weekends of the year. With the State Fair of Texas in full swing, Fair Park will be a popular place for riders all weekend long.

As the Official Ride of the Red River Showdown, we have several designated pickup points near the Cotton Bowl. The primary pickup area is on the north side of Fair Park outside of Gate 1 on Pacific Ave. Fair Park is a big place, so we’ve arranged for three alternative pickup areas as well:

- The intersection ofJB Jackson Jr. Blvd and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
- West of Fair Park along Exposition Ave.
