Government Mandated Taxes, Fees, and Surcharges

Philadelphia TNC Assessment Fee

By law, 1.4% of all rider fares for trips that pick up in Philadelphia go to the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA). Two-thirds of the fee collected by PPA goes to the Philadelphia school district – contributing millions of dollars annually to local schools. The remaining one-third is kept by the PPA. You can see this fee as an added charge on your Uber receipt (“Philadelphia TNC Assessment Fee”).

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) Access Fee

For trips beginning or ending at Philadelphia International Airport, an airport access surcharge is applied. This fee is sent directly to Philadelphia International Airport, as required by PHL's Rates and Charges Regulation. This fee will appear on your receipt as part of the "Tolls, Surcharges, and Fees" section. This money does not go to the driver or Uber.

Booking Fee
This is a variable rider fee that helps support Uber’s regulatory, safety, and operational costs, such as the government-mandated commercial auto insurance we maintain on behalf of TNC/rideshare drivers and payment card fees. Click here to learn more.
