Uber Is Partnering With Idaho Potato Drop
This New Year’s Eve, Treasure Valley residents will be flocking to downtown for the Idaho Potato Drop, an annual festival of music, dance, and entertainment that brings in 20,000 to 30,000 attendees.
To make Idaho Potato Drop as easy as possible to attend this year, Uber is working with the organizers to coordinate a dedicated pickup and drop-off zone at the event. Starting at 6pm and going until the celebrations end just after midnight, Uber will be picking up and dropping off on 6th Street between W. Bannock Street and W. Jefferson Street. Note: You will only be allowed through 6th with your visible Uber sticker. W. Bannock St. and W. Jefferson St. will be closed as well and the only way to get on 6th Street is through W. State St.
To help facilitate the process further, there will be 10 stalls within the pickup/drop-off zone. When receiving and accepting a request, please head over to an empty stall, park and text/call your rider to confirm location. This communication will help you locate your rider!
Be prepared for a busy night downtown this year. Happy New Year and Uber on!
