Uber is Bringing the Heat to Help #MoveFLForward
NBA player by night, civic activist by day and voice of thousands of Floridians petitioning for better, global transportation options in Florida – Udonis Haslem of the Miami Heat is featured in a new radio ad supporting Uber in the Sunshine State. In the ad, Haslem touts his support for two bills in the Florida Legislature – Senate Bill 1618 and House Bill 1389 – that will bring Uber to cities across Florida, expanding consumer choice and championing economic growth.

Uber has revolutionized transportation in cities around the world. Not only by providing safe transportation choices for consumers, but also providing new economic opportunities for drivers. We want to bring those opportunities to Florida.
To date, more than 100,000 Florida residents and visitors have opened the Uber app to connect with a stylish ride, only to find their transportation needs can’t be met.
It’s time for Florida to join the 21st Century by standing up for innovation, consumer choice and modern transportation alternatives like Uber.
Below is a transcript of the ad by power forward Udonis Haslem, a Florida native and an alum of Miami High School and the University of Florida:
“This is Udonis Haslem of the Miami Heat. As a life-long Floridian, I’m asking you to help to make sure Florida isn’t left standing on the curb while other states pass us by.
We need choices in Florida, like Uber, that smartphone app where with a push of a button a car shows up to take you wherever you want to go. You’ve probably seen it used in other states, giving consumers more choices and lower costs, but it’s being blocked here in Florida.
That is why I’m supporting Florida SB 1618 and HB 1389, join me in convincing our state lawmakers to bring more transportation choices to Florida, like Uber. Please go to FloridaNeedsUber.Com and sign up today.”
