Request an uberX, Receive a Philly Pretzel
Last Thursday, Philadelphia City Council unanimously approved a resolution supporting uberX in the City of Brotherly Love. The resolution urges the PA General Assembly “to swiftly pass legislation” that would establish regulations for ridesharing options like uberX throughout the state, including Philadelphia, saying, “Philadelphians desire and deserve additional transportation options.”
This is a great step forward, and we thank Councilmember Jim Kenney for his leadership and co-sponsor Councilmembers Goode, Greenlee, Tasco, Jones, Bass, Reynolds Brown, Squilla, O’Neill, and Henon for their support.
To celebrate, we are showing all of our supporters our Philly pride with a little #UberPretzelLove.

Starting at Noon, request an uberX ride as you normally would and hope yours arrives with our favorite salty treat, courtesy of Philly Pretzel Factory!*
This resolution came the same day that the PA Public Utility Commission (PUC) voted unanimously to grant Uber a license to operate in most of the state. But the work isn’t over yet — the State Legislature needs to act this year to make Uber a permanent part of Philadelphia.
We thank City Council again for all of their support.
