One Year Moving Austin

It’s hard to believe it’s been one year since Uber launched in the Live Music Capital of the World, and we’ve been rocking ever since. After our kick off with Paul Qui as Rider Zero we’ve kept Austin moving in pedicabs during ACL, brought you tacos during SXSW, helped with your Spring Cleaning to benefit Goodwill Central Texas, brought you kittens, and collected food for those affected by flooding in Hays County.
As our first year comes to a close, we want to thank the nearly half a million riders who have completed more than two and a half million trips. Together, we are changing the way Austin moves about the city.

Connecting riders to safe, reliable rides has led to a safer city and streets through better decision-making. More and more, residents and visitors alike are using Uber as an alternative to drunk driving, and evidence suggests that many riders are tapping the app for a safe ride home after a night out.
We’ve also empowered Uber driver partners to use their own car to enjoy greater flexibility and earnings…
Driver partners have made over $27 million on the Uber platform in Austin, moving their neighbors and helping their families.
Our growth over the last year would not have been possible without the thousands of driver partners who have hit the road with Uber. Thank you to the Austinites who earn money with Uber to supplement creative projects, to the mothers who drive for their families, to the veterans transitioning to civilian life, and everyone in between.
Cheers to one year together, Austin. Thanks for coming along for the ride! We can’t wait to continue the journey.
