One Year in Kansas City
It’s now been a full year since we began operations in KC!
To celebrate what this year has meant for our riders, our driver partners, and the local community, we dialed up a tribute fit for Kansas City and delivered BBQ On Demand.
Jamaal Charles, who already held the distinction of taking the first ride in Kansas City, also etched his name in the Uber KC history books this week when he and teammate Cyrus Gray grabbed the final UberBBQ delivery of the day.
They weren’t the only ones enjoying #UberBBQ. In only a couple of hours we delivered hundreds of delicious BBQ lunches to users across Kansas City. It was an anniversary tribute befitting the greatest BBQ city in the world.
While we only delivered BBQ for a day,
we’re moving Kansas City each and every day.
Our mission is to provide transportation as reliable as running water, everywhere, for everyone.
In this spirit, we’ve completed hundreds of thousands of trips since launching in Kansas City last summer. With over 1,000 driver partners having completed a trip, riders across Kansas City can now rely on a safe and affordable ride, curbside in an average of three minutes. This means fewer impaired drivers getting behind the wheel, and safer roads for everyone in Kansas City.
