New Year, New Options: Introducing UberSUV!
The new year means more ways to Uber in Detroit! Starting today, Uber riders now have the option of requesting an SUV and riding big in a Navigator, Escalade, or Suburban.
If your Uber group is larger than four people, everyone can ride together in one Uber. Each SUV can accommodate up to six passengers. In Detroit, we offer a base fare of $13 and charge $3.50/mile + $0.30/minute. For more information on this check out the Detroit city page.
How do I request an SUV?
If you are using the app, just slide the vehicle view over to SUV . You can also differentiate car type if you’re using the BlackBerry app to request. BLACK & uberX options will continue to be available.
Note: Choosing “BLACK” and being picked up by an SUV will not charge you SUV rates unless you have more than four people.

- Birmingham to Royal Oak: $33-40
- Downtown to Royal Oak: $58-74
- Grosse Pointe to Detroi Metro Airport: $106-140
