In late 2013, we arrived in Columbus to provide access to a safe, reliable and convenient way to get around Ohio’s capitol city. Since that first trip we’ve been providing an increasingly affordable way to move around Ohio, and a new way for Ohioans to be their own boss and earn income on their schedule.
We’re thrilled to announce Uber has provided more than 2 million rides across Ohio!
Driver-partners on the Uber platform are moving Ohio, and Ohioans have more choice in transportation now than ever before. In less than two years we have expanded to serve six cities across the Buckeye State. And over the past 19 months, we’ve experienced some exciting highlights, too!
We’ve provided Busken cookies on-demand in Cincinnati, partnered with The Tribe in Cleveland to get you to and from the diamond in style, joined MADD in the fight against drunk driving the weekend of The Game in Columbus, added more ways to get around your city with the launch of uberXL and UberSELECT, and we even delivered ice cream across Ohio to celebrate National Ice Cream Day.
More than 60% of Ohioans have access to Uber, and they use it most often when it’s the safer alternative for getting home.
Such extensive coverage offers Ohio citizens a smarter alternative to getting behind the wheel if their plans include alcohol, and getting a safe, reliable ride has never been easier. Across Ohio, we see demand for Uber trips spike during the same hours that alcohol-related incidents typically occur with the highest frequency. Residents and visitors finally have reliable access to another option for getting home safely from a night out with friends.
