Finding Freedom In An App

Last fall, Danielle Cullen, a grad student at North Carolina State University, wrote a letter to Uber CEO Travis Kalanick. She shared how Uber has allowed her the freedom of mobility to pursue her passions.

Danielle’s story is one of 5.3 million—the number of people in the U.S. living with a lifelong disability as a result of a traumatic brain injury. She is not able to drive, making it challenging to navigate Raleigh, particularly while completing her off-campus coursework. Since launching in Raleigh-Durham in 2014, Uber has expanded access to transportation options for riders like Danielle who are in need of a safe, affordable, and reliable ride.
