Party with Essence, Ride with Uber

The big weekend is finally here, New Orleans! Hundreds of thousands of people are headed downtown for the premier music and cultural festival of the summer — and we’re ready for a powerhouse weekend.

As an official partner of Essence FestivalⓇ presented by Coca-ColaⓇ, we’re here to make sure you get around safely and in style all weekend long.

During the day and when each night comes to a close, we expect large crowds exiting the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. For optimal pickups and exclusive Essence Festival deals, reference the guide below.

ESSENCE FESTIVAL GUIDE

Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Dedicated Pick-Up Area

Exit the Convention Center near the Great Hall (Hall A) and head to our recommended pickup area on Julia St near Convention Center Blvd.

Mercedes-Benz Superdome Recommended Request Area

For the shortest ETAs, head a few blocks away from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome area to request.

ESSENCE PROTIPS

• Perfect your pickup. Double-check your pickup location in the Uber app before hitting ‘Request’ button.
• Be sure to hop in the Uber you requested. Check the license plate info listed in your app to avoid taking someone else’s!
• Divide the cost on your way to Essence Festival and fare split with friends. For parties more than four, select uberXL or our higher-end option UberSUV.
• NO SURPRISES. No one likes surprises. With Uber, you can always know what to expect by running a fare estimate before you request.

*Demand will be very high this weekend, we thank you in advance for your patience.
