Denver #UberEverywhere
We’re continuing on the #UberEverywhere journey, and our next stop is beautiful Denver!
Welcome to Colorado!
Did you know that the sky is actually bluer here? It’s true. We attract people from all over the world seeking a balance of snow, sunshine, and a great beer. With panoramic vistas to marvel at on your morning commute, a thriving tech-start up community, nearly 300 days of sunshine, and the largest public parks system of any U.S. city – Denver seems to be a no-brainer!
Uber launched in Denver during September 2012 and in true Denver spirit, Techstars’ David Cohen was Rider Zero. We’ve been having some fun along the way too. Uber has helped out with transportation for hundreds of events, delivered ice cream & roses on-demand and captured our 1 year anniversary in an awesome video (check it out!). Most recently, we’ve added a new car product, uberX (which is 30% cheaper than a taxi) to our app, with a special appearance from our favorite Broncos Captain Wesley Woodyard to take the very first uberX ride. We can only imagine what’s next for Uber Denver…
Ubering around Denver
We pulled out our phone and ordered a Black Car to show you some of our favorite spots in the Mile High City.
Denver’s Top 5
We narrowed down our long list of ultimate list of favorite bars, restaurants, nightlife, and parks to bring you some of our Denver favorites!
Home of the world famous Denver Broncos. Everyone in Denver wears their blue and orange on game day!
The Mile High City’s oldest and most historic block, its buildings tell vividly the story of the birth and early years of Denver. Dotted with shops and restaurants, you’ll find something for everyone. Pro-tip: If you are thirsty, find your way through the silver swinging door of a tiny pie shop to the Prohibition-style speakeasy Green Russell!
The Highland Bridge’s triple-rib arch rises dramatically above the ground 70 feet. Completed in December 2006, the bridge has made LoHi more accessible to downtown businesses and has been a key influencer in the neighborhood’s growth.
After NYC’s Lincoln Center, Denver has the second largest performing arts center in the world. The City and County of Denver’s Theatres and Arenas Division owns and operates the three largest theaters in DPAC: the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, the Buell Theatre, and Boettcher Concert Hall. Catching a show (or two) is always a must.
Craft brewing is a way of life in Denver! This locals favorite draws inspiration from beer gardens of Bavaria. Share a table and pint with new and old friends!
