You might get lucky this St. Patrick’s day. But when it comes to rides on-demand, we’ve left nothing to chance. While you’re out getting “jig”-y with the best of them, keep the following Pro Tips in mind:
Hold on to Your 
When demand for rides outstrips the number of cars available, surge pricing will automatically go into effect to encourage more drivers to get out on the road. As demand goes down and more cars free up, the rates go back to normal.
Surprises aren’t for everyone. That’s why we’ll always notify you in BIG, BOLD print if surge pricing is in effect and ask you to manually type in the higher multiple before you can request a ride. Want to see the future? Enter your drop off location and tap “Fare Quote” to get an estimate of the cost of your ride.
Save Your Pot o’ Gold
Friends let friends (and leprechauns) fare split:
- Tap the “up arrow” next to your driver’s info and select “Split Fare”
- Invite the friends you’re riding with and tap “Send”
- Your friends will receive a message and be directed to the app to confirm before the ride ends
- Your friends without Uber will be asked to download the app, sign up, and confirm their share of the ride
Find the Perfect Pickup
Luck of the Irish not required:
- Tap the address bar at the top of the screen to manually enter your address so your driver knows where to meet you
- Check the license plate and name of your driver at the bottom of the screen. Use this information to confirm the correct vehicle before hopping in.
- Having trouble connecting? Call or text your driver by tapping the up arrow button at the bottom of your screen and select “Contact Driver.”
- While you wait, enter your destination right in the app to ensure a seamless ride
You would never let your friends leave the house without something green.
