uberX & John Wayne: a Work in Progress

Since September 2013, uberX and UberBLACK have provided a safe, reliable, and stylish way for Orange County residents, business travelers and tourists alike to request a trip to and from John Wayne Airport. During this time, our riders in and around the OC have told us they love tapping the Uber app to connect with a fast, convenient ride to the airport. They also love landing at John Wayne, pushing a button, and having a car curbside by the time they clear baggage claim.

Unfortunately, airport administrators have taken an aggressive stance against ridesharing and have begun issuing citations to some uberX drivers who pick-up and drop-off passengers at the airport. Although we look forward to working with the authorities to resolve these issues quickly, we want all our Uber experiences to remain positive. That’s why we’re temporarily halting all uberX ridesharing drop-offs and pick-ups at John Wayne Airport effective immediately.

Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get picked-up or dropped-off by drivers using UberBLACK or UberSUV. After you request a ride the driver will contact you to confirm your terminal door number.
