At Uber, our business is innovation and today we’re partnering with rvatech to support Richmond innovators and entrepreneurs like you. Coming up with an idea is tough, but securing funding to take your startup from idea to reality can seem nearly impossible. Here’s your chance.

This Friday, July 22, local Richmond entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to achieve their dreams of funding — all at the touch of a button. With UberPITCH, participating riders will connect with some of the most successful venture capitalists in Virginia. Between 9am and 11am, riders who successfully complete a request using the PITCH option will be picked up by Uber and have 15 minutes to pitch their idea or business to the prospective investor already in the car. Oh, and the entire ride will have been absolutely free!

So practice your #UberPITCH, get your game face on, and take a look at the details below to get your once-in-a-lifetime shot at securing the funding your startup needs.

How it works:

  1. Open your Uber app, tap the menu icon in the top left corner, and tap Promotions
  2. Enter promotion code PITCHRVA or RVAPITCH
  3. Request a ride in the now-available “PITCH” option on Friday, July 22, between 9am-11am
  4. You will be picked up by Uber with an investor inside the vehicle and have 15 minutes to pitch your idea. After the 15 minutes are up, you will be dropped back off at the original pickup location

Demand is expected to be very high, so participants are encouraged to keep requesting
