Check out the Houston team’s summer plans

Summer is here, and whether you’re getting out of town for a few weeks or living it up in the Bayou City, we want to highlight the summer plans of a few Uber Houston team members.

This summer, I’m superpumped to head to Greece. Getting to the airport’s a breeze in an Uber, and I’m excited to ride with Uber in another country! Once I’m back in Houston, I’ll be hitting up some of the city’s coolest rooftop bars, like Proof Rooftop Lounge. Parking can be a real drag in Midtown, but I can fare split with my friends and save money when getting a safe ride home.

I can’t wait to start my vacation in Eastern Europe during this July 4th weekend. I’ve only got a few shirts packed; traveling light is my thing. The food over there is incredible and the nightlife is a ton of fun—but there is nothing quite like the taste of Houston. I plan to explore new eateries in H-Town without leaving my house using the UberEATS app. Tons of restaurants for every palate are available everyday from 8am to 12am, and now I can order right from my desktop! I’m looking forward to getting food delivered directly to my door during Eurocup, and once the Olympics begin, you can find me obsessively watching our soccer teams (USA! USA! USA!).

This summer, my goal is to fall in love with H-Town again! First on the agenda is spending time with my girlfriend. Whether we’re hanging out by the pool on the weekends or taking an UberBLACK for a fancy date night, we’re going to enjoy everything Houston has to offer. I’m also planning to make the most of downtown living by catching some Astros games at Minute Maid Park and seeing USA Men’s Basketball take on Nigeria at the Toyota Center before they head to Rio.

This summer, I’ll be taking the kids to visit family back in Florida, riding as many rides as possible at Disney World, and then heading to the Florida Keys. Once we’re back home, I have to start preparing to get my Air Force unit through a big inspection. As part of the Air Force Reserves, we go through an inspection that assesses our unit’s effectiveness through task evaluations, audits, and observations. My kids will definitely be stir crazy so catching an Uber to the splash pad at the Houston Zoo is a must all summer long!

Summer in Michigan is hands down one of my favorite times of the year so I’m planning to go home at least once to see my family and meet my nephew. Okay, and to escape the Houston heat for a bit! Later this summer, I’ll be playing lots of tennis at my favorite courts in town. I also plan to show my best friend around Houston when she comes to visit over Labor Day weekend. She’s never been to El Tiempo so she’ll definitely have to try some of the best fajitas and margaritas in the city!
