Top 15 Restaurants in NYC
One of the benefits of living in New York City is having access to endless dining options. And with uberX rates, exploring those options is now more affordable than ever. Last week, some restaurants in particular stole the attention of hungry New Yorkers. To find out where the masses were dining, we looked at anonymized trip data between Friday, January 25, and Sunday, January 31. Here are the standings:
1. VANDAL | LES
Vandal is the uber-cool (see what we did there?) new restaurant by the same team who brought us LAVO and TAO. It’s only been open for 3 weeks, but Vandal has already positioned itself as the most popular restaurant among New York Uber riders. Good thing the restaurant has 3 dining rooms and 360 seats to pack in the crowds.

2. TORO / DEL POSTO / COLICCHIO & SONS | CHELSEA
Since all 3 of these restaurants share the same address, it’s tough to say which one attracted the biggest crowd last week. The good news? All 3 are worth the trip. So let’s just call it a draw, shall we?
3. BEAUTY & ESSEX | LES
New Yorkers have been flocking to this restaurant-turned-nightclub for years. Whether they go for the food or the dancing, it’s clear this LES hotspot is still hot.
4. ELEVEN MADISON PARK | FLATIRON
5. LOCANDA VERDE | TRIBECA
Both a neighborhood favorite and New York favorite, Locanda Verde gets it right—every time.
6. BARBUTO | WEST VILLAGE
7. CATCH | MEATPACKING
This popular Meatpacking destination attracts big groups looking for a dinner-to-dancing night out on the town.
8. THE MERCER KITCHEN | SOHO
This SoHo restaurant has remained popular among New Yorkers since it opened in the late ’90s. Favorite dishes include the truffle and fontina pizza and the burger.

9. BALTHAZAR RESTAURANT | SOHO
We already discovered that Balthazar reigns as #1 when it comes to brunch, but now we see that its popularity continues throughout the week, at all times of day.

10. PETER LUGER STEAK HOUSE | WILLIAMSBURG
Looks like a lot of New Yorkers were craving red meat last week. Good thing they all knew where to find the best.

11. ABC KITCHEN | UNION SQUARE
ABC Kitchen has definitely established itself as a staple in the NYC restaurant scene. We wouldn’t be surprised if it made it to a top 15 list among Uber riders every week.

12. ACME | NOHO
What was once a popular Nordic restaurant is now a French-Italian bistro. Based on its placement on this list, it would appear New Yorkers have embraced Acme’s new identity.

13. THE SPOTTED PIG | WEST VILLAGE
5 years ago, you might have had to wait 3-4 hours before sitting to eat at The Spotted Pig. Today? Maybe only 2-3. Things are looking up! But really, long waits never kept anyone away from that juicy burger, and they never will.

14. LA ESQUINA | SOHO
Whether you’re looking for window service tacos or a subterranean sit-down experience, La Esquina is always a good choice.

15. SANTINA | MEATPACKING
Though the food is delicious, we wouldn’t be surprised if most people go to Santina for the atmosphere. The music, decor, and colorful Mediterranean cuisine offer vacation-like vibes. Who doesn’t need that kind of escape in the dead of winter?
