While there are only twenty commercial airlines operating out of the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), it still carries the most passengers of the three airports in the greater Baltimore/Washington DC area. Once you get through their many exhibits, you can take in the joys of the Inner Harbor with its many restaurants, street performers, and surrounding views.
- American Visionary Art Museum: Located on the south shore of the Inner Harbor, you’ll find The American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM). Of course, this isn’t your typical day at the art museum, as the AVAM is dedicated to the exhibition and preservation of outsider art. Be sure to check out the 55-foot tall whirligig sculpture by farmer and sculptor extraordinaire Vollis Simpson.
