St. Louis Mardi Gras 2016 Ride Guide
You’ve got your beads, you know the parade route, and your whole krewe is ready to celebrate the best time of the year here in St. Louis. Check out our Mardi Gras ride guide for info and tips to make sure you get a 5-star ride on February 6.
PICKUP AND DROP OFF
Road closures make getting to and from Soulard difficult on Mardi Gras, so make sure you know where you can/cannot be dropped off (we think Russell and Gravois is a good option). For the perfect drop off, let your driver know what works best for you. For a flawless pickup, head to Shenandoah Ave between 9th street and 13th street. This is the only location in the center of Soulard where you’ll be able to get picked up.
PARADE TRACKER
Finding (or avoiding!) the grand parade can be a challenge. That’s why we’re excited to announce the Uber PARADE TRACKER. Now you can track the location of the parade in real time, using the Uber app!
HOW IT WORKS
- Open the app on Saturday, February 6th at 11am
- Toggle to the “PARADE TRACKER” option
- Look for the car with Mardi Gras streamers for a live update of the parade’s location
MARDI GRAS PRO TIPS
Check the price. Surge pricing shouldn’t be a surprise. Get a Fare Estimate in the app before you ride. To avoid the highest fares, head to the festivities early or catch a ride after the parades have come and gone.
Split the fare. Use fare split if you’re rolling with the whole krewe. uberX can seat groups up to 4, while uberXL can handle parties up to 6 passengers.
Confirm your driver. Crowds will make locating your driver more difficult than normal. We recommend that you call or text your driver through the app to coordinate the best pickup location. Confirm your driver’s car model and license plate in the app before you hop in your ride.
Contact support. Leave your mask behind? Get in contact with your driver directly if you leave something in a vehicle. Problems with your trip? Reply to your emailed trip receipt or reach out to our support team and we can look into it for you!
Finally, remember to be safe this Mardi Gras. Being able to push a button and get a ride means it’s easier than ever to avoid drinking and driving.
