Uber San Diego + MADD team up for a safe Cinco de Mayo

San Diegans love Cinco de Mayo, and from the Gaslamp to Pacific Beach, we sure know how to celebrate. But making a plan so that you don’t drink and drive is the only way to enjoy a SAFECINCO. That’s why Uber and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in San Diego are teaming up this Cinco de Mayo to urge revelers to plan ahead for the most important part of the night: the ride home.

We were thrilled to bring uberPOOL to San Diego last week. This weekend, to make it easier for people to make a safe choice, we are offering FREE rides on uberPOOL trips within the splash zone — all weekend long. Enter the promo code SAFECINCO and ride between Thursday, May 5 at 5pm and Sunday, May 8 at 2am and your uberPOOL ride is on us. Starting or ending your trip outside of the splash zone? Don’t worry, we will take $5 off your ride to help you get wherever you’re headed.*

San Diegans who take POOL home instead of getting behind the wheel will be making a smart choice for our city and streets by supporting MADD’s important work to end drunk driving. Plus, by sharing the journey with someone going to the same place at the same time, we’re working to reduce congestion over time.

How it Works:

• Enter the code SAFECINCO in the Promotions section of the app.
• Request uberPOOL between Thursday, May 5 at 5pm and Sunday, May 8 at 2am.
• Enter your pickup and dropoff locations. When you uberPOOL within the splash zone, you’ll get a free ride. If you start or end your uberPOOL trip outside of the splash zone, you’ll get $5 off.
• Celebrate and get home safely with uberPOOL.
