Dad, Pops, Papa, Padre. Regardless of what you call him, Father’s Day is about honoring the men who have raised us.
This Father’s Day, Uber is proud to spotlight a driver-partner and father, Louis.
“With Uber, everyone benefits. I stand with the Uber team and they stand with me.”
How did you get started driving with Uber?
My two brothers were driving with Uber in Chicago at the time, so they introduced me to it. I started with arms wide open and told myself that I would give my absolute best service to riders. Since then, my car has become a type of sanctuary for my riders – we share stories and customers really realize that I am giving the best possible service, so it’s very rewarding.
How many kids do you have?
I have five daughters and one son. My son is the oldest, his name is David and he is 25. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. Rugh is my oldest daughter, she is 24 and and working in the criminal justice field. My daughter Schelomith is 23 and a business student at FIU. I have two other daughters who are also in college. Noadia is a psychology major at FAU, she’s 22 and Venice is 21 and goes to Miami Dade College. My youngest daughter is 14 and in high school.
What does driving with Uber mean to you as a father?
Being an Uber driver means supporting my family. In addition to having multiple daughters in college, my wife is also in college. I put in a lot of time driving with Uber in order to support them. I am fighting for every single penny to support all of my children and at Uber, I am respected for that.
I see that you have completed over 2,000 trips as a driver-partner! Do you have any favorite stories from your time driving?
My favorite thing about driving with Uber is the respect I receive. I always feel like Uber is on my side and that they are willing to help me. I love knowing that I am working for a great company that allows me to support my large family. With Uber, everyone benefits. I stand with the Uber team and they stand with me.
