There’s more than one way to earn extra when you drive with Uber. You can drive at a set time and location with Boost+, complete a goal with Quest, or earn when demand is higher with Surge.* Here’s how each one works and where to find it in the Driver app.

Get to know your earning opportunities

Uber offers promotions and other ways to earn extra for driving in certain areas, completing trips, and driving more. Discover what these promotions mean, how they can help maximize your earnings, and where to find them in the Driver app.

Boost+

Boost+ lets you earn extra on eligible trips when you drive during a set time and in a specific area. Your extra earnings are based on active time. For example, at +$10 per active hour, 60 active minutes earns $10 extra and 30 active minutes earns $5. Boost+ is available ahead of time, so check Discover to see what’s available and choose what works for you.

Quest

With Quest, you can earn extra by completing a set number of eligible trips within a certain time. Every Quest is different, so check the trip goal, timeframe, and requirements when you sign up. See one that works for you? Sign up. There’s no penalty if you don’t complete it. Then track your progress right in the Driver app.

Surge

When rider demand increases, Surge may be available. Check the Rides Heatmap to see where demand is higher. Red, orange, and yellow show busier areas. When Surge is available, you’ll see it in purple. Use the Heatmap to see where it’s busy and where you could earn extra.

Where to find opportunities

Knowing where to look can make it easier to find earning opportunities both before and while you drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I earn from more than one promotion at a time?
Yes. When eligible promotions overlap, you may be able to earn from more than one at the same time. For example, a trip could earn Boost+ while also counting toward an active Quest.

How can I see how much I earned from promotions?
Your promotion earnings are included in your trip receipts and Earnings Hub, so you can see how much you earned from each trip.

Do Uber Pro drivers earn more?
Yes. In most U.S. cities, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond drivers typically earn [[Custom.gold_earnings_multiplier]]% more per hour than Blue.**

Are there other promotions besides Boost+, Quest, and Surge?
Yes. Other limited-time promotions may also be available. Check Discover to see what’s available to you.

*Available promotions and surge pricing vary by city and service type.
**Higher earnings per hour online of Gold status drivers are due in part to their acceptance rate along with other perks of being Gold. Acceptance rates are part of the criteria for tier eligibility. Stated percentage of [[.Custom.gold_earnings_multiplier]]% is based on the median earnings per hour online of Gold drivers compared to the median earnings per hour online of Blue drivers, between [[.Custom.earnings_start_date]] and [[.Custom.earnings_end_date]]. Actual earnings vary, depending on factors like number of trips completed, time of day, and location. Earnings include trip fares, certain promotions (which are subject to change and may vary), and tips (which are provided at the discretion of the consumer). Median earnings in your area may be lower than the city's, and your earnings could be above or below the median (which is the middle). For the avoidance of doubt, drivers are paid based on their completed trips, but not hourly or weekly.
