Celebrating Driver-Partners this Mother’s Day
This Mother’s Day we’d like to take some time to thank all of our Boston driver-partners who are mothers for all that they do to keep this city moving. Balancing work with motherhood is no easy task—learning about how they’ve made it possible with Uber truly inspires us. Hear more about their stories below.
Allowing Time for Family
One of the most common reasons that driver-partners choose to drive with Uber is for the flexibility that it affords them. For working mothers this flexibility is invaluable.
“To me this a great ‘mothers’ hours’ job and I’m thankful for it. Being able to start to work after dropping off my kids at school and to stop right on time to pick them back up?!…very convenient. This flexibility in the schedule is wonderful.”
– E.G. from Marlborough
“Having restricted time, Uber has given me flexibility and for that I am ultimately grateful. I can make a few extra bucks when needed without taking time away from my babies. Being a mommy is my priority and it helps that I have met some amazing people through partnering with Uber. It makes my time worth it.”
– Eddaliz D. from Boston
“It allows me to spend the days with my son, and make some money at night while he rests, and with this money we go on new adventures and do what he loves—swimming classes, karate and more.”
– Missie S. from Malden
Making Holidays Brighter
Many partners drive with Uber to provide their family with supplemental income. These additional earnings allow them to go the extra mile for their kids.
“Before I started driving for Uber, I wasn’t able to work due to my husband’s ever rotating schedule. Which made it hard to do fun things with our 3 year old because we were always short on money. But now with two incomes coming in, we’re able to plan weekend getaways and Sunday fundays, not to mention how much better Christmas was this year!”
– Allison F. from Boston
“Uber allowed me to earn extra money so I could take my son on his first trip to Disney world. When he walked up to an employee and said, “this place is, like, the happiest place on earth”, I thought it couldn’t get any better.”
– Karen from Boston
“It has helped me financially to provide a lot more to my daughter, as well as catch up on bills!”
– Veronica D. from Boston
Balancing It All
A number of single mothers find that both the accommodating hours and lucrative income opportunity allow them to earn money while balancing being the sole parent.
“Being a single parent, it’s great to be able to make your own hours and if there’s an emergency you don’t have to worry about nonsense when you have to go.”
– Tina C. from Lynn
“I’m a single mother of a beautiful baby girl! When I first found out I was having her I didn’t know how I was going to make it financially. And one friend just joking said: drive with Uber! And I did! Uber gives me the chance to work in what I love, teaching, be with my daughter and make my own schedule to achieve my goals for the month! Without worrying that I won’t have enough money!”
– Anya L. from Cambridge
Thanks to these mothers and all mothers for all that they do for their families. Wishing you a very Happy Mother’s Day this year!
