Maureen, a New Jersey native, worked on Wall Street for 31 years until finally she decided that she needed a break. Today, you can find Maureen cruising the streets of New Jersey—from down the shore (where she lives) to Hoboken and Jersey City—driving as one of our highest-rated uberX partners. “I just love the freedom,” she says of her new(ish) gig as an Uber partner.

Her day-to-day routine varies, which is what she loves about driving on the platform. Most mornings she’ll start by driving to the airport to pick up riders. Often, she’ll do only airport pickups and drop-offs all day. If she’d rather do shorter trips, she’ll spend the day in Hoboken or Jersey City. It’s this kind of flexibility—deciding when and where she works—that she values most. “I can turn the app on and off,” says Maureen. “I have a lot of little kids in my life. I get to go to my goddaughter’s basketball games and then make up hours driving when I want to.”

When she’s not driving (or attending kids’ basketball games) Maureen enjoys hitting the slopes in the winter and the beach in the summer. She makes a point to get up to Vermont when she can to ski at Stratton or Sugarbush, and usually plans a trip out west each season to enjoy the fresh powder. Once spring and summer arrive, she’ll then spend her days enjoying the sunshine on the beaches in Mantoloking. When you meet Maureen, you know right away this is a woman who lives life to its fullest and enjoys the company of others. Her smile and charm are both genuine. When you travel with Maureen you’re not only getting a safe, reliable ride, but also an opportunity to meet someone who cares, understands, and can crack a joke. One of her favorite parts about driving with Uber is having conversations with all of her riders. “Everybody’s got a story, you know.” And she’s right.
