Delivering using the Driver app

Here’s some information about how the app can help make deliveries successful.

Spotlight on pickups

When you’re ready to deliver and have a shift scheduled in Planner, you can go online in the Driver app.

The restaurant will be expecting you, but you can let the staff know you're there to pick up an order from the Uber Eats app. Delivery people have told us they match the name and the order number in the app with the order to confirm they have the right one before leaving the restaurant.

Locating your customer

If you’re unable to find the customer when delivering, you can call or message them in the app. If they don’t answer, you can tap the banner that appears to indicate that they didn’t answer. This will send them a notification.

If the customer doesn’t respond after you’ve followed the in-app steps to contact them, continue following the prompts. The app and/or Support will tell you if and when the delivery can be ended.

A high number of canceled deliveries may indicate fraudulent activity in violation of our Community Guidelines and the Platform Access Agreement.

Frequently asked questions

Any suggestions for how to transport an order?

Using an insulated bag and the provided safety equipment helps keep food at the right temperature and ensures your safety on the road. In the Netherlands, delivery couriers are provided with standard gear and are expected to use it for every delivery to maintain quality and safety standards.

Can all drivers also receive delivery requests with Uber?

Not currently. You can use your Driver app to take trips with riders or to deliver food. You must choose one service option and complete the relevant sign-up process.
