Important Changes to Pickup Area

Effective March 4, 2025, YEG is relocating the rideshare pickup area from the Arrivals Paid Area to the Arrivals Free Area near the parkade.

Rules and regulations

Airport Regulations for driver-partners

Per airport regulations, driver-partners must adhere to the terms below. Failure to do so may result in the receipt of a citation or even restriction of access to airport trips. Please note that Uber will not pay for any citations that driver-partners may incur.

  • There will no longer be a waiting lot for rideshare on airport property. YEG requires that drivers be outside of the light blue area on the below map in order to receive customer requests. Once you receive the request, please proceed to the pick-up area in Arrivals Free.

  • The Uber sticker (trade dress) must always be displayed on the vehicle’s windshield. Driver-partners can obtain this Uber sticker by filling out this form to receive one by mail.

Pro tips

  • Driver cancellations: Trip cancellations can take away from the great Uber experience that both riders and driver-partners expect. Please remember that driver-partners who improperly use the app and intentionally disrupt the service, including excessively canceling rides or asking riders to cancel rides, may lose the ability to receive trip requests to and from the airport through the Uber Driver app.

  • Ground transportation and airport security staff: Airport rules are as important as traffic rules. Airports expect Driver-partners to follow the instructions of the airport staff.

Rematch

Rematch at YEG

Rematch allows drivers who just completed an airport dropoff to be temporarily eligible for receiving a pickup request within the blue area indicated above. As you are exiting the airport, you may receive a Rematch request, though a Rematch is not guaranteed. Please note that once you drop off at the airport you must promptly exit the departure area. Idling at the curb may result in a citation from airport authorities.

How drop-off requests work

Based on the operating agreement with the airport, riders can be dropped off at any location. If you’d like to receive a trip request afterwards, you’ll need to keep the Uber driver app on to maintain your place in the FIFO queue.
