Get licensed in Finland
With millions of riders all over the world, Uber is a great way to make money — but first you need a license to operate in Finland. It usually takes 4-6 weeks to complete the process and get your taxi drivers license and taxi operating license.
Apply for the licenses
1. Visit our Greenlight Hub

2. Book a test and get prepared
You will need to pass a test to get taxi drivers license. We'll help you to prepare for the test with our Uber Ignition online learning material. No mandatory courses are required to prepare for the test.
3. Apply for the taxi drivers license
You'll need to fill an application form, get a health check for group 2 driving license and deliver both of those to Ajovarma's branch office. Once the application is done, you will receive taxi drivers license by mail.
4. Get a business ID
You will need to have a Finnish business ID before you hit the road. We'll guide you in the process and you can read further information from YTJ.
5. Apply for the taxi operating license
You'll need this to be able to drive as an independent operator. Application for this license is made only via Trafi's website.
6. Register your vehicle and get it insured
To be able to use your vehicle on Uber, you'll need to register it for professional use. If you'll need a new vehicle, we can help you with that. We will help you to get competitive insurance rates from our insurance partner as well.
7. Start driving with Uber
Once you have received the licenses and uploaded your vehicle documents, you can get on the road and start driving!
