Seattle Deactivations Policy

Deactivation Policy Overview – Uber’s Seattle deactivation policy complies with the App-Based Worker Deactivation Rights Ordinance. Deactivations are prohibited for reasons like work availability, offer acceptance, cancellations with cause, or customer ratings. Temporary suspensions under 48 hours for technical or maintenance issues are not considered deactivations.

Immediate deactivation may occur in cases of egregious misconduct, such as actions endangering safety, causing harm, or involving harassment or abuse.

Non-egregious deactivations include a 14-day notice, while egregious cases receive notice by the effective date. Delivery people have the right to challenge deactivations through a formal process.
