As cities respond to COVID-19, more people are staying home, government agencies and Uber Greenlight Hubs are closing temporarily, and many restaurants are switching to delivery-only. As a result of these closures – account activation is delayed at this time and it may take longer to get on the road.
Activation information for new delivery people
As of April 17, 2020, account activation may still have delays for new delivery people in Canada, so we’re providing important information all in one place to help you in the meantime.
Guidance for activation requirements and documentation
You can find minimum requirements for delivery people below.
|Profile Photo: Clear photo of yourself with your face visible registration||Status: Processing time may be delayed|
|Proof of Work Eligibility: One of Canadian Passport, Study or Work permit, Canadian Birth Certificate, Permanent Resident or Citizenship Card||Status: Processing time may be delayed|
Your additional requirements if you’re delivering by car
|Driver’s licence: Full Class licence (Class 5, G etc.)||Status: Processing time may be delayed|
|Vehicle registration and proof of vehicle insurance: Proof of Insurance and Vehicle Registration may be separate or combined documents depending on province. Must show delivery person name and not be expired.||Status: Processing time may be delayed|
Guidance for new delivery person eligibility verification
|New delivery person background check: criminal history check through third party vendors ISB and Triton. Screening for those delivering by car will also include driving history check. Once your documents are approved you will receive an email to begin your background screening.|
