Go Electric Incentive

To qualify for the incentive, drivers need to switch to an EV and complete the required eligible rides trips in the first 3 months. The incentive is available to 1,000 Canadian drivers in 2026.

Eligibility requirements

  • Drivers in the Uber Pro Diamond loyalty tier who have never added their own EV to their account are eligible for this incentive.
  • Spots are limited—only drivers who sign up and are selected will be able to participate.
  • The first wave of applications closes on February 20, 2026
  • Uber will notify you of your eligibility by mid-March 2026
  • After receiving confirmation from Uber, to receive the $5,000 incentive, an eligible driver can add an EV that they own to their Driver Account within two months, and complete 300 eligible rides in the Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver regions, and 100 trips in all other regions. within the three months.

Frequently asked questions

  • Drivers who meet the following criteria can apply to receive the Go Electric incentive:

    • Uber Pro loyalty program status is Diamond
    • Eligible to complete rideshare trips with Uber under applicable rideshare regulations in their city in Canada
    • Apply for the Go Electric incentive via this survey before the deadline, and be approved and confirmed as eligible by Uber
    • Switch to an owned EV and have never owned an EV on the Uber platform before. EVs rented via Hertz or other rental partners of Uber do not qualify.
    • The offer is limited to 1,000 participants in 2026. If more than the maximum number of participants signs up to participate, Uber Canada will select the eligible participants based on (i) meeting the eligibility criteria of Diamond tier Uber Pro loyalty status and never adding an owned EV to their profile previously, (ii) geographic distribution across the country, and (iii) number of trips completed in the last 90 days.
    • Note: Your completion of the application form does not guarantee your selection to participate in the offer. Spaces for this offer are limited, and Uber will directly notify drivers who are eligible to participate in the offer.
    • If you apply before February 20, 2026, Uber will notify you of your eligibility by mid-March 2026
    • If there are remaining spots after the first round of applications, Uber will open additional application rounds.
    • When Uber notifies you that you are eligible to participate, you will have 2 months to add an EV that you own or lease to your driver profile.
    • For this offer, “EV” includes battery-electric vehicles (BEV) and fuel-cell electric vehicles (“FCEV”). Hybrids and plug-in hybrids are not eligible.
    • You will need to complete required trips within the first 3 months after adding the EV vehicle to your Uber profile
    • The required number of trips is 300 in the Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver regions, and 100 trips in all other regions.
    • Where UberX Share is available, each passenger leg of a shared trip counts as a separate trip for this offer.

  • No, this incentive is only available to drivers who own or lease their EV. EV rentals through Hertz and other partners are not eligible.

  • Only rideshare trips completed in an EV are eligible. Uber Eats, Courier, and other delivery trips are not eligible. Cancelled rides do not count

Uber Canada will select the eligible participants based on (i) meeting the eligibility criteria of Diamond tier Uber Pro loyalty status and never previously adding an owned EV to their profile, (ii) geographic distribution across the country, and (iii) number of trips completed in the last 90 days. Completion of the application form does not guarantee selection to participate in the offer. Spaces for this offer are limited, and Uber will directly notify drivers who are eligible to participate in the offer. If—after completing the application form—a driver receives notice confirming their eligibility to participate in the offer, then in order to receive the one-time incentive of CAD$5,000, the driver must (1) maintain Diamond status in the Uber Pro loyalty program until the trip and vehicle requirements are satisfied (see Uber Pro Terms and Conditions); (2) within 2 months of Uber sending the notice of eligibility, add to their Driver Account an EV with the Driver accountholder’s name stated on the vehicle registration, ownership and insurance documents; and (3) within 3 months of adding the EV, complete the required number of rideshare trips with Uber in their city using the EV. This offer applies only to completed rideshare trips with Uber.

Trips in non-owned vehicles (such as rental vehicles) do not count. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles do not count. For this offer, the term “EV” includes fully battery electric vehicles (“BEV”) and fuel cell electric vehicles (“FCEV”); and “owned” includes personally leased vehicles. Cancelled trips do not count. Non-ridesharing trips such as trips with Courier and Uber Eats do not count. For pooled or shared rideshare trips, each leg of a trip that is separately booked will count as one trip towards your minimum trip requirement (e.g. if you pick up a rider using UberX Share, and then pick up another rider using UberX Share along the way, it will count as two trips for this promotion).

Any payment due will be added to your account within 30 days of the eligibility period. No partial payments will be made. The offer is valid only for those who are directly notified by Uber that they are eligible to participate, and who complete all the requirements for the promotion. Uber reserves the right to withhold or deduct payments that we determine or believe were fraudulent, illegal, in error, or in violation of these terms or your agreement(s) with Uber. Offer and terms are subject to change. If Uber updates any of these terms in the notice confirming eligibility to participate, then the newer terms will apply. Please read these terms carefully before participating.

**Only drivers in the Diamond Uber Pro tiers with battery electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles may participate in the Zero Emissions incentive program, excluding drivers enabled to take trips with Uber Black, Uber Black SUV, or Uber Taxi. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles are not eligible.

The Zero Emissions incentive program will be valid from February 1, 2025, until January 31, 2026, on rideshare trips and not on delivery trips, but including trips with Uber Connect.

The offer period is the following 12-month period: February 1, 2025–January 31, 2026. During the 12-month period, qualifying drivers can get $1 extra per completed rideshare trip provided with a battery electric vehicle (BEV) or fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) up to a maximum of $4,000 in the 12-month period. The Uber Pro Program and its Program Periods are described in the Uber Pro Terms and Conditions.

Uber reserves the right to withhold or deduct payments that it determines or believes were fraudulent, illegal, in error, or in violation of these terms or the agreement(s) between you and Uber.
