All Uber Trips Are Covered by Insurance

Ensuring your peace of mind and providing greater safety on trips arranged through the Uber platform is our priority.

That’s why Uber maintains an insurance policy with Chubb Seguros Brasil S.A., which offers Passenger Personal Accident Insurance (APP) to protect riders and driver-partners on every trip.

This insurance covers driver-partners from the moment they accept a trip request and begin heading toward the rider, and it also covers riders and their guests from the moment they get into the vehicle until the end of the trip.

How does it work?

After reporting the accident through the Uber app, the user will receive an automatic email confirming the report. If you are eligible for coverage, the insurer Chubb will contact you directly. The claim process is simple, quick, and can be completed directly by you, without the need for intermediaries.

If Chubb does not contact you within three days, you may reach out to them directly through the Customer Service Center (SAC) at 0800 200 70 51 (available 24/7), or through the Ombudsman via email at ouvidoria@chubb.com or by phone at 0800-722-5059 (available Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Please have the SAFE Code number provided by Uber support via the app.

Coverage

  • Accidental death: R$ 100.000,00 (one hundred thousand reais);

  • Permanent total or partial disability due to an accident: up to R$ 100,000.00, depending on the degree of loss or functional impairment of the affected body part;

  • Medical, hospital, and dental expenses: reimbursement of up to R$ 15,000.00.

This is a term insurance policy, and the insurer has the right not to renew the policy at the expiration date, with no return of premiums paid, as stated in the policy.
