Rider, driver, and Uber Eats updates: Hurricane Dorian

We strongly advise our riders, driver-partners, and Uber Eats partners to make safety a priority as Hurricane Dorian approaches. We encourage you to monitor local weather updates, adhere to state and local emergency procedures, and stay off the roads during extreme inclement weather.

We are actively monitoring the situation. Please stay tuned for safety and operational updates on the Uber apps—we will be sending notifications via in-app messages.

See below for details on discounted rides to shelters as well as operations for rides and Uber Eats, and continue to check back here for the latest information. Select each area to see where operations are suspended.

1.       Open your app and tap “Payment” in your app menu

2.       Scroll down to Promotions

3.       Tap “Add Promo Code”

4.       Enter code DORIANRELIEF then tap “Add”

5.       Select any of the state-approved Florida evacuation shelters listed at FloridaDisaster.org/info, or your local county website; or any of the Georgia and South Carolina shelters listed on the Red Cross website. 

*Maximum discount of up to $20 per ride. Ride offer valid for up to 2 trips per rider on UberX or UberXL. Driver-partner earnings will not be affected. Rides must be requested to or from any state-approved evacuation shelter in Florida or Red Cross shelters in Georgia and South Carolina.  Promo code must be applied before requesting the ride for discount to apply. Discount does not apply to tips. Cannot be combined with other promotions/discounts. Terms subject to change. Limited availability.
