Introducing POOL Pass: 2 buck commutes all month long

POOL Pass is a new program we’re piloting to change the way you commute in Boston. When you purchase this $85 pass, the first 40 uberPOOL trips you take in the month of April will be only $2 each. That means if you commute every weekday in April, you’ll pay a little over $4 per trip when factoring in the price of the pass.

There are a limited number of passes, so snag yours before they’re all claimed! We’ll be selling passes Thursday 3/24 and Tuesday 3/29 in the Uber app (instructions below).

This pilot program will continue to evolve, and we will request your feedback to help it improve. Thanks for helping us innovate and provide more options to help you move around Boston. This is just the beginning.

HOW TO PURCHASE

1. Open the app from 9am to 5pm and request the POOL Pass option (the same way you would request uberX or uberPOOL).
2. You’ll be automatically charged $85 using the card on file.
3. We’ll send you an email confirming your purchase, and you can start using it April 1.

THE DETAILS

Purchasing the POOL Pass does not guarantee the availability of any trip. Rides are a flat $2 fare on uberPOOL, unaffected by surge. To qualify, trips must meet the following requirements:

• Occur between April 1-30, 2016, Monday-Friday
• Morning commutes (before noon) must begin in Seaport/Southie zone and end in Seaport/Southie or Downtown zones
• Evening commutes (after noon) must begin in Downtown zone and end in Downtown or Seaport/Southie zones
• Applicable on up to 40 trips

Downtown zone limit: Mass Ave to Southwest Corridor Park to Mass Pike. | Southie/Seaport zone limit: I-93

Terms and Conditions

• Each Zone Pass is available for a one-time, upfront, non-refundable fee of $85, which will be charged to the credit card on file with your Uber account. Purchasing the Pass does not guarantee the availability of any trips.
• There are 200 Zone Passes available. Limit one (1) per person.
• Zone Passes are non-transferable and non-refundable, and may not be redeemed except as provided herein.
• Zone Passes must be purchased by March 29, 2016.
• Each Zone Pass entitles the purchaser thereof to a guaranteed $2 fare on up to 40 “Qualifying Rides”.
• To be a Qualifying Ride:
• The ride must be requested through the UberPOOL vehicle view only.
• The ride must be requested between 12:01 am EST Monday and 11:59 pm EST Friday
• If requested between 12:01 am and 12 pm, the ride must originate in the Southie/Seaport Zone and end in the Southie/Seaport Zone or the Downtown Zone, each as noted in the map above.
• If requested between 12:01 pm and 11:59 pm, the ride must originate in the Downtown Zone and end in the Southie/Seaport Zone or the Downtown Zone, each as noted in the map above.
• The ride must be requested between April 1-30, 2016
• The fare must not exceed $50. The total cost of any ride exceeding $50 will be charged directly to the purchaser of the Zone Pass.
• Uber reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate the use of any Zone Pass that is used fraudulently.
