Let Us Help You Get Ready For Storm Season
William Bohan Chinique

As the first storm of the season approaches South Florida, we want to make sure our riders are ready. We’re teaming up with our friends at Capital One to provide a free Storm Readiness Pack on-demand while supplies last. You can request one tomorrow, from 10am to 12pm in Miami-Dade County through the Uber app. Demand will be high and availability will be limited.

These packs include items that will help you get ready for whatever comes our way this season. Each Pack Includes:

  • 2 Gallons of Water
  • First Aid Kit
  • Kinetic Flash Light
  • Batteries
  • Glow Sticks
  • Duct Tape
  • Moist Towelettes
  • Trash Bags
  • Deck of Cards

We will also be donating 1000 Gallons of water to be distributed locally by charities in South Florida.

As South Florida prepares for inclement weather, we wanted to provide a quick reminder about how your Uber rides will be affected by the storm.

If state of emergency is declared in Florida, prices will not exceed 2.9x the normal fare.

This reflects Uber’s national policy that balances the goal of reliable transportation options with affordability during disasters: Anytime a disaster or state of emergency strikes, dynamic pricing is capped.

A few things to be aware of:

  • Higher than normal ETAs: Please be patient as demand for rides may be higher and wait times may be longer than usual
  • Take caution: Please monitor news sources for the most up-to-date information about the storm and follow federal, state, and local safety directives.

In case of an emergency, please follow any and all state and local emergency protocols.
