In 2014, Uber launched several cities in Kansas to the excitement of riders and drivers. Since then, the Uber platform has facilitated thousands of rides for residents and visitors who need them, and given thousands of Kansas residents the opportunity to make a good living.
Uber users spoke up last week to tell Kansas legislators to support ridesharing services, like uberX. Unfortunately, Kansas lawmakers chose not to listen to their constituents and instead passed a bill making it impossible for Uber to operate here.
With the passage of SB117, Kansas legislators acted to destroy thousands of jobs and a safe transportation alternative for communities throughout the state.
This is not the end of Uber in Kansas – we will work hard to ensure all Kansas communities can benefit from the economic opportunities and transportation options that ridesharing services like uberX provide.
