A Permanent Home for Uber in Maine

Last week, the Maine State Legislature joined over 20 states by passing a bill that supports more transportation options for riders and enables job opportunities for hundreds of local drivers. This legislation preserves the Uber you know and love, and it creates a permanent home for ridesharing in Maine.
None of this would have been possible without the leadership of Chairman Henry Beck and the other members of the Insurance and Financial Services Committee. They have positioned Maine as a state that embraces innovation and welcomes modern transportation alternatives like ridesharing.
THANK YOU, REP. HENRY BECK!
WHAT’S IN THE LAW:
- A uniform set of rules for ridesharing driver-partners
- Mandatory federal, state, and local background checks
- $1 million primary insurance coverage during all trips
And last but not least, thank you! We couldn’t have done it without you, and we look forward to continuing to move the Pine Tree State!
