At the close of 2016, the Peer Advisor Program hit its 6-month mark. We have learned a lot about what it takes to make this program a success. Here is your Peer Advisor Program year-in-review.
Then and now
- The Peer Advisor network grew from 175 partners to 830 partners (over 400% increase)
- The number of Peer Advisors grew from 18 to 26 (about 40% increase)
You talked, we listened
As just one perk of being in the Peer Advisor Program, members had exclusive access to participate in the AT&T Football and Georgetown Haunted Morgue promotions in Fall of 2016. Because of the feedback we received from you:
- We created a fix that ensures you no longer get requests from riders across Lake Washington that previously caused you to either cancel the trip or make the long trek around the lake.
- We opened up a new Greenlight Hub in South Seattle that has an onsite mechanic for inspections, free parking, and Saturday hours.
- We were able to fix in-app bugs faster because they were being reported in real time by Peer Advisors and the peer network.
- You gave us feedback about uberPOOL and we acted on that feedback:
- We created an auto-add feature to address safety concerns about adding new riders to an uberPOOL trip while driving.
- We changed the way you see uberPOOL earnings with the goal of making them easier to understand.
- We sent out several types of communications to riders to improve their education on the uberPOOL product and how it differs from an uberX trip.
What’s next for the Peer Advisor Program?
- We’re expanding the program: The Peer Advisor Program will soon be available in Bellingham and Olympia.
- We want to reduce barriers: To improve our support to partners with different needs, we will be offering an ASL-exclusive network as well as the option to join language-specific networks.
- We want to keep you informed: We will begin sending regular quarterly surveys to all members of the program along with a quarterly newsletter. We are also revamping the Peer Advisor website so you’ll soon be able to read more about other Peer Advisors in the program and what we’ve accomplished together.
- We value your feedback: Peer Advisors have joined specific committees to work on getting your feedback to the right Uber team members in a more direct and impactful way.
Do you have ideas for how we can improve the Peer Advisor Program? Along with our quarterly survey, you can also let us know through this form.
There’s still work to do
Not every problem can be solved overnight. Sometimes a complex problem calls for a complex solution that takes analysis, testing, and engineering power. There will definitely be more changes to come in the future, especially with your help. Stay tuned for more changes coming to uberPOOL, in-app support, and more.
